Minicourse Picture


This is the fifteenth mini course on quadratic forms and related structures organized by the department of mathematics in Lens, Faculté des Sciences Jean Perrin (University of Artois) in collaboration with the department of mathematics in Louvain-la-Neuve (Université catholique de Louvain). The mini course is supported by ANR (Agence Nationale de la Recherche) in the framework of the project "Groupes Algébrique et Théories Homologiques", and by the BRQ (Bonus Qualité Recherche) support from the University of Artois.

The program includes three 5-hours courses, and few short talks by young researchers.

Courses:

Michel Brion (Institut Fourier, Grenoble): Commutative algebraic groups up to isogeny.

Bill Jacob (University of California, Santa Barbara): Quadratic Forms, p-Algebras, and the de Rham Witt Complex.

Max Karoubi (Université Paris 7): Overview of Hermitian K-Theory.

Adam Chapman (Michigan State University): Linkage of cyclic division p-algebras of prime degree.

Uriya First (University of British Columbia): Rationally Isomorphic Hermitian Forms.

Matthias Grüninger (Universität Würzburg, Germany): New examples of wild nearfields via regular matrix groups over skew polynomial rings.
